Lisa Moroney is a still life and landscape painter based in Hobart. Her still life paintings feature the objects and flora in and around her home. Minimalist objects in Lisa’s painting mixed with fruit and flora, aim to convey the intricacies of light and space, with a strong emphasis on colour. Lisa’s landscapes are concerned with her relationship to the Midlands of Tasmania, with long vistas of paddocks and historic land marks being her interest. When Lisa is not at the easel painting, She works alongside her husband on their sheep property in the Midlands, producing wool and lambs.
Lisa studied at the University of Tasmania, School of Creative Arts, Graduating in 2014 majoring in painting. Lisa has participated in workshops at the National Art School, Sydney, also studying painting. She has been included in many group shows in Hobart since this time and has shown her work in commercial galleries.
Lisa was a finalist in the 2021, 2022 & 2023 Henry Jones Art Prize and 2020 & 2023 Glover Prize for contemporary landscape painting.
